Shelter Fun Frolic

Shelter Friends Fun Frolic at Johnson's Orchard! This event will be held on October 21st from 10:00am-1:00pm, at Appleseed Country Johnson's Orchard at 2122 Sheep Creek Rd Bedford, Virginia 24523. The Shelter Friends Fun Frolic includes a 2.5k walk through the trails with beautiful fall foliage, a dog costume contest, raffles, and complimentary coffee, and Apple Cider (cider provided by Johnson's Orchards). We will be grilling up hotdogs for lunch.   As always there will be DELICIOUS homemade baked goods will be available for purchase for people AND fur babies! There will be a photo background set up with a photographer on site as well! Bring the whole family including your vaccinated dogs and have fun on this beautiful walk! Also enjoy some Apple Cider and get some delicious homemade baked goods!
To sign up to walk, the cost is $10 and the first 50 people to sign up get a free tee shirt! Kids under 7 years old get in free! *Sign up is not complete until the entry fee for the walk is paid. Free general admission if you aren't walking but just want to come see everything else this fun event has to offer! Holiday Happiness Adoption Event

On Saturday, December 9th, Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter (FOBCAS), will be holding our annual Holiday Happiness Adoption Event at the Bedford County Animal Shelter. We will be offering $10 adoption specials for all available shelter pets for qualified adopters. Santa will be there for photos !!We will be serving a white chicken chili lunch for purchase. As always there will be lots of baked goodies for you and you furry friends available for purchase along with t-shirts, wine glasses, and tumblers.

City of Angels Mega Adoption Event

We have been invited to attend Angels of Assisi's annual MEGA Adoption Event!!
When you hear the name Angels of Assisi, who are we talking about? Who actually are the  #Angels ? Are they the people who tirelessly work in the  #shelter  and the  #clinic ? Or maybe  #animals  are fallen angels who are brought to health and into homes where they can radiate joy and love the way angels would. Maybe the angels are the  #volunteers  who give their time to little souls needing comfort or donors who give the gift of possibility. Or perhaps the angels are the people who come to shelters, choosing to  #adopt  a pet who needs a home which then provides an extra space for the next animal who needs a chance. What if Angels of Assisi refers to all of them? What if it’s all of us? We could be a City of Angels trying to bring goodness into our  #community  and homes one  #adoption  at a time. Come to the Berglund Center on Sunday, December 10th to witness a gathering of angels from all over the  #Roanoke  area and our neighboring shelters for the City of Angels MEGA  #Adoptathon . Furever Valentine Adoption Event/Rabies Clinic

On Saturday, February 10th, 2024, Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter (FOBCAS), will be setting up at the Bedford County Animal Shelter for a Furever Valentine adoption event. The event will take place from 10am to 2pm. There will be t-shirts, dog/ cat treats, FOBCAS merch, and yummy baked goodies available for purchase.

Riverside Veterinary Hospital will be hosting a drive thru rabies clinic in the overflow parking lot at the shelter from 12:30pm to 2pm. Rabies vaccinations will be $8 cash or check.
All proceeds benefit FOBCAS!

Spring Bling Adoption Event/ Rabies Clinic

Our 9th annual Spring Bling Adoption Event/ Rabies Clinic will take place at the Bedford County Animal Shelter from 10am until 2pm, April 27th. The address is 1307 Falling Creek Rd., Bedford VA, 24523.
The rabies clinic will be 12:30pm- 2pm. The cost for rabies vaccines are $8 cash or check. 
The clinic will be hosted by Riverside Veterinary Hospital in the overflow parking lot at the Bedford County Animal Shelter.   
There will be adoption specials for available
shelter pets. Maybe you will find your diamond in the ruff!     
If you are not able to adopt at this time, Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter would still love your support. As always there will be a tasty lunch for purchase!
FOBCAS tees, hats, wine glasses, coffee tumblers, and bumper stickers will be for sale.

It’s going to be a hula of a good time!

RABIES CLINIC & ADOPTION EVENT 

Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter will be holding our 9th annual Pet Luau event at the Bedford County Animal Shelter from 10 AM to 2 PM on June 15th, 2024. There will be so much fun to be had by all. Come out and meet the awesome available shelter pets. There will also be hot dogs, pasta salad, and baked beans for purchase. As always, you can expect a huge variety of baked goods made by our wonderful volunteers. From 12:30 PM to 2 PM Riverside veterinary hospital will be hosting a rabies clinic (also at the Bedford County animal shelter) in the overflow parking lot. The clinic will be driving through style. Rabies vaccinations will be $8 cash or check. 3 year vaccinations are available with proof of prior vaccination.


All proceeds benefit Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter! Come out and support us so that we can continue to assist the shelter pets along with our fosters in need! We can’t do what we do without the community.

$8 Rabies Clinic!!!

Are you looking for something fun to do with the entire family? Looking to Adopt a new furry family member? Need to get your pet a rabies vaccine??  

Well, we have just the thing! On October 26th, Friends of the Bedford Co Animal Shelter will be holding the Spooktacular Event! Enjoy a hotdog  off the grill with all the fixins’ for purchase. There will be yummy baked goods for both you and your furry friends. Come on out and join the fun! The shelter dogs will be in their Halloween costumes and ready to greet you! The event will be from 10am to 2:00 pm. The rabies clinic will be held from 12:30pm until 2:00pm. All vaccine fees collected will be donated to Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter.
