Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed : : Male : : Adult Learn more about the Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
Spike was first reported to animal control for wandering through a neighborhood going through garbage for food with another dog.
For weeks, officers tried to capture them and eventually, they were brought into the shelter. The female was pregnant and went to a rescue where she can have her puppies in a home environment, while Spike did nothing but eat and sleep for a few days straight.
This poor guy was exhausted from life on the run. He was timid and unsure, but slowly he started to come out of his shell. It appears that he has never been someone’s beloved pet, and volunteers and staff are making sure Spike knows and understands that he is now safe and loved.
Now that he is learning to trust, he really does enjoy human attention! Spike is in foster care with FOBCAS and his foster dad tells us he is mellow, crate trained and housebroken!
