Meet Rowan!

Rowan is a 6 month old hound mix who has come a long way since arriving at the shelter in terms of being less fearful of people.  He had not been handled or socialized much so he wasn’t quite sure how to behave. But since then he has learned how to walk in leash beautifully and is much less timid about being touched. He may take just a bit to warm up to you, but once he does, he seeks affection and belly rubs. E has also learned that the crate isn’t so scary and really helps him settle and rest properly. He does enjoy the company of dogs and is very playful now. A few times he has shown a tendency to guard food or some toys from other dogs, but this is easily observed and managed.  Rowan is a medium-sized pup who no doubt will bring joy to a home who has patience to continue building his confidence. He has not been tested with small children yet and would likely do better in a home with older children who have good manners around dogs.
