This sweet girl has had a rough go of it. When she first came into Bedford Animal Shelter she wasn't in the best shape. She was missing lots of fur, had obvious eye issues, and was scared of her own shadow. Two weeks later we are happy to report she is doing so much better! Due to medicated baths given by the shelter staff her fur is growing back and her skin is in much better shape. The issue with her eye seems to be permanent but is also in better shape with treatment so far. The best news is that her spirits are up as well! The staff at the shelter immediately went to work when she came in to make her feel comfortable and to gain her trust. At first she would cower in the corner of her kennel shivering and avoid looking at passerbys, now she still is timid in her kennel, but she is more interested in visitors and looks forward to interactions with staff. Gina is very sweet, she just needs a family that will be understanding of her past and is willing to take the time to make her comfortable and be patient with her as she learns what trust and love from humans is. Gina is a large adult dog at around 80 lbs. She has not been dog or cat tested yet, but she will be in the future.
