About Ranger

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Current Age: 3 Years 8 Months (best estimate)

This fella is Ranger! He is a Great Pyrenees mix that came in as an owner sign over. He is a big beautiful boy who at just over a year old is just an overgrown puppy. We don't have too terribly much more information on him but will know more in the coming days. One of our volunteers who went out to walk dogs said he does fairly well on a leash. Ranger would do best in a fenced in yard, and breed experience is preferable for adoption! Anyone who knows Great Pyrenees know that they take a special kind of home and attention. Ranger lived with goats previously and enjoyed his job as goat guardian but he has chased livestock that wasn't "his". A meet and greet with any current dogs in the home is recommended and due to his size and age a home with very small children may not be the best fit.

If interested in knowing more on Ranger, please call the Bedford County Animal Shelter at 540-586-7690 or visit the shelter Tuesday - Friday 1pm - 6 pm and Saturdays 10 am - 2 pm.
