Meet Rosie!

Her story hurts my heart, but knowing she will now have a better life fills it with joy!

Because this post is meant to promote Rosie we will spare you the unnecessary details. Rosie recently had a litter of puppies. Sadly they all passed away outside in the elements. Rosie not only had to go through the loss of her babies, but she also was not well. Rosie had Metritis, (bacterial infection of the uterus), after giving birth. She did receive the medical care she needed, thanks to the awesome Bedford County Animal Control officers getting her to the vet immediately. Rosie has now been spayed and vaccinated. She is currently recovering in a Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter foster home.

Rosie is about a year old, approximately 50 pounds, and crate trained. She even knows basic commands like “sit” and “shake”. Rosie is very much a family dog. She loves people and just wants attention. Rosie is a bit nervous right now when she goes outside. She would need to be leash walked or in a fenced-in yard. Rosie has met dogs of all sizes and a cat in foster care. She seems to be fine with all of them. This girl is a true “diamond in the ruff”!
