Nala is a spayed nine year old husky mix.

She was absolutely distraught after being surrendered to the Bedford County Animal Shelter (VA). The kennel area has to be a scary place for new dogs. They are taken out of their homes and placed behind bars in a room with many other barking dogs. A wonderful volunteer, Kat was able to sit in her Kennel and give her the time she needed to approach Kat. She is really starting to open up. Yesterday we were able to get Nala out for a much needed bath. I walked her and she even let me rub her belly, but I suspect a lot of the back rolling was because of her itchy skin. Nala seems to be alright around cats from what we can tell. She has lived with another dog, but we always require a meet and greet with other dogs in the home. Nala is at Riverside veterinary hospital getting her ears and skin treated for an infection. She is looking for a home where she will have lots of patience and love.
