Dora, practically a kitten herself, hasn’t had an easy start to life. That didn’t stop her from raising a beautiful, strong & healthy litter, though, adjusting for their sake, to life inside a home - safe from the “mean streets!”
Dora, an actual, semi-feral kitty, is ironically one of the most gentle cats I’ve ever met. She is big on the ankle rubs & head-butts, it just takes her a few days to feel safe & sound, she may hide at first but she comes around in a big way. She has a few (funny!) quirks in her behavior, as she learns to be social & trust people. She is lovely (not a street cat) & amazingly tidy; litter trained & enjoys treats, catnip, toys with birdie-noises... most importantly, she has been a devoted & determined mother to her kittens. They are all soft-as-bunnies, thanks to her careful grooming. She had them all litter trained in no time at all.
Now she deserves to be spoiled! A true cat-lover with a big, patient heart is needed!
Dora won’t likely be able to get along with other cats in the home... unless they happen to be young kittens! She is definitely afraid of dogs from what I’ve been able to observe in this first few weeks with her. But when she’s relaxed & crawls into your lap, there’s no greater reward. She deserves so much more; but all she wants is a loving, open lap! Apply to adopt Dora today & be a vital part of her on-going rescue story. Dora is currently being fostered through Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter. If you have any further questions, please contact fobcasfriends@gmail.com.
