SOMEONE PLEASE HELP THIS SUPER SWEET SENIOR

Wayne came into the shelter after his owner passed away. It was heartbreaking to see him try to stand up after laying on the concrete floor to greet me (he had a standard issue plastic bed with blanket, but it has since been replaced with an orthopedic dog bed). We imagine that he gets stiff and has a good amount of arthritis. After he was up Wayne greeted me through the fencing with a rickety full body wag and and licking my fingers. He was so happy for the attention! Wayne is a neutered male Catahoula mix with chocolate merle patterned coat. He is 10+ years old and quite a bit overweight at 82 pounds. This guy neutered, seems to be housebroken, and lived with another dog in his last home. We were told he is good with cats and children as well. That has not been tested. FOBCAS is will be sponsoring a check up at Riverside Veterinary Hospital to find out where he is medically. He is currently on a glucosamine supplement. What he needs most of all is a home to live out his golden years. We believe he was very loved by his person and that ending up alone and homeless in a cage must be so depressing for him. Is anyone out there interested in giving this old man a soft bed and kindness for the rest of his days?
